I would try to net him first but reducing the size of the tank with egg crate if you can. If not try a trap or use a small barbless hook with food and try to catch him that way. Good luck

Thats sounds crazy fishing in fish tank well guess ill try anything once now i juat done water change over the weekend an now ive got a huge toxic green hasn't open back up gotta figure that out now thanks im gonna try an find a trap also

Got myself a female diamond tail flasher on Saturday and it has already started turning dark. I'm sure it's to do with my lighting but can anyone tell Me exactly why this happens and If it will be permanent?

Here's two blue star gals I got from LA. When they arrived, one was definitely not looking so good and the other one was not far at all from passing.

I did what I thought I needed to do and so far so good. This is day 9 in the QT. Both are eating now, started a couple days ago. Been through Prazi, working thru Metro and Kana now. Haven't done copper yet, and I am hesitant to even do it, but don't want a sick tank more than anything...

First wrasses ever.

I recently ordered blue star leopards as well, ordered two hoping one would live. One looked good and the other was floating upside down getting stuck to the overflow in the QT. I gently freed her and she wedged herself into the rocks. She was off for a few days swimming odd and sleeping in the rocks instead of the sand. Crazy thing is she seems to have made a full recovery. I thought for sure she would die. I did one round of prazi so far but don't think I will treat with anything else unless disease shows itself.

I think this was discussed earlier this year in this thread. Lighting plays a role. Mine has gotten darker as it’s gotten bigger. All the males I have seen have been darker. Here’s mine.

I spotted aa Ruby head fairy wrasse that caught my attention. Any one have any experience with these and can share pro's and con's? I never really paid attention to the wrasse family but the more I see the more I like! Are there other wrasse's a person should checkout? Planning on a mixed reef but starting out with the frogspawns, tourches, leathers and working my way up over time.

I got both on 10/16/2018 ... the larger one was quick to eat frozen hikari mysis after a day and the smaller one just started eating frozen today finally (it was always picking at rockwork.)

Got it at my LFS ... first time I went there like a year ago they had a bunch and I waited a few days to do some research and when I came back they were all sold out.

They contacted me when they got these two in and I didn't want to waste any time and pick them up!

They seem to have great luck at getting some harder to get wrasses (they had a few Potters and flames in stock last week.)

I think I'm at my wrasse limit for a 120 now! LOL

Currently stocked with the following: Cleaner wrasse, China Wrasse, Lubbocks Wrasse, Potters (2), Red Tail Tamerin (2), Moyeri, and a Flame (male).

Hmm, according to best info, the Melanurus Wrasse and Blue Star Leopard Wrasses are supposed to be Carnivores and turn up their nose at Seaweed Sheets. Apparently mine didn't get the memo:

Very nice, my wife and I waited for our LFS to do a bulk order of Leopard Wrasses and then we waited 2-3 weeks to see which ones were still feeding and active. My wife picked the most active one and brought it home and it adapted to reef frenzy and even joins in on some seaweed feeding (as seen above).

Yep, wrasses forgot to read that tidbit. I have 4 flashers, 3 fairies, 1 leopard, and 2 Halichoeres wrasses and every one of them battles the tang and flame angel for the nori.

Funny thing is that my Melanurus didn't care for seaweed until i got my Coral Beauty and my Tang feeding from the clip, after a few days it took interest and now takes a bit every single day. The Leopard went for the seaweed from the clip since the first day it came out all day.

Mine is a bully he bothers my bluestar. I would if you are adding him with different leopards add him last.

They have been known to bully/harass other leopards, sometimes to death. Not always, but it does happen.
Otherwise they should be peaceful towards other fish.

He would be the first leopard in my tank. LFS got direct indo fish shipment. At least I think it’s an ornate from the bag I saw. ;)
