I know the feeling, I just caught my info lubbocki flashing but didn’t get the phone out in time unfortunately. Better luck next time I guess.

Finally got an alright photo of my Cebu Lubbocki, anyone able to tell me if one of the two lubbocks is supermale?

the anal and pelvic fins on the info are the same blue colour as seen on the Cebu.

Also, finally got a photo of the radiant showing her (his?) fins. The dorsal spots are faint other than the one above her head, and a line (Possibly red) fading into her dorsalfin. She has a definite black spot just before her caudal fin though. Is this a transitional male? Or do I own a mature female?

I recently purchased a Bluethroat Fairy Wrasse Cirrhilabrus cyanogularis . He’s been in my tank for over a month now but hasn’t been displaying great color. He’s about 2.75 - 3 inches in length inches in length . He eats a variety of foods 2-3 times a day and is always out and about in the water column . He’s currently my only fairy wrasse and I have not noticed any bullying from tank mates . I couldn’t capture a good photo but he looks identical to the fish in this photo . Is it normal for it to not display terminal phase coloring at this size ?

IME, fairy wrasses show less colours when alone than when with a female. This isn’t me saying you should go and get a female. Because then in the long run you will have 2 males, I recommend instead getting a flasher wrasse (If the tank is 4’+) or a smaller fairy wrasse (If the tank is 3’+).

Supermale is subjective. It’s just a term people give a terminal male with great color. I think both of your Lubbocki’s have great color.

Cyanogularis loses its blue throat frequently in captivity.

Supermale is subjective. It’s just a term people give a terminal male with great color. I think both of your Lubbocki’s have great color.

Thanks! Guess it gives me less time to figure out what to do with the Jade. Could he have been transitioning the whole time, causing the Jade to become aggressive do you think?.

The mccosker family has survived the first 2 days and man am I in love with them! The large male mainly, because he's absolutely gorgeous, never seen such a pretty mccosker. They are eating great and the male is already ruling over his damsel army. According to fishbase this coloration seems to be found around Saudi Arabia. Can't wait to see what he looks like in a few weeks/months.

Fun little detail: they share a cave at night. A hidden pvc tube actually. They go into hiding at the exact same time at night. The female wakes up an hour after the male.

My wrasse addiction is still strong as ever and I'm already planning to add a linespot flasher in the near future. I'll skip the fairies again, I'm afraid they aren't great tankmates for flashers in my tank size.

Sounds like you need a bigger or 3rd tank!

These guys do make me miss my old wrasse gang, the timor, chrysus and big fat mccosker. Guess I need a bigger tank as well lol.

I did the mirror trick on my nano and got all three of those guys to come right to the front! Naoko displaying the nice flashing colours:

I tried it on my bigger tank but the tang decided to go at his reflection instead and the other guys just ignored it.

Haha, yeah! I’d love a bigger tank, if I upgraded the nano I’d go for tilefish/gobies and possibly one or two wrasses.
If the Jade is bitey then I can always make room for more by getting the 5” beast out I guess!
If only I had room for a 3rd tank, I’d love another 4’ tank for just the Jade and maybe other boisterous but smaller wrasses. Now that would be a nice tank, a boisterous wrasse tank with a Jade and some other boisterous fairies like scottorum and melanomarginatus.

Beautiful McCoskers!! I'm so enjoying my little leopard wrasse. I got to see her scurry under a rock into the sand last night. Hope to see her come out this morning :-) You have a beautiful tank!!

Oh man, the plans I have when I finally have a proper house instead of an apartment. Space is my biggest issue as well. This tank already looks huge in my apartment and to not give off huge crazy fish guy vibes I'll stick with this one for a while.

A dragon wrasse would be a nice addition for your boisterous wrasse tank :cool:
