I love me some wrasse's, so I want to see everyone's wrasse pictures! Please share!

I've been practicing my fish taking.. Snapped a decent one of my Naoko Wrasse, still need to polish up on my skills though!

Snagged a decent pic of the radiant and timor today, and some fuzzy super zoomed in pics of the pintail and the red velvet. You can see some of them in the last pic as well, including the red velvet, the hooded flame, the cebu lubbocks, and the rhomboid.

That’s interesting - I thought it had been described! Wonder if the new name will have it rise in price and popularity.

Although the price of the “Newley” discovered C. Tonozukai is surprising. Actually a lot of the new wrasses seem to be cheap in terms of wrasse. And then you have sanguineus, the worlds most expensive wrasse if I remember correctly.

The new-to-science Rose-Veiled Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus finifenmaa) is one of the first species to have its name derived from the local Dhivehi language, ‘finifenmaa’ (meaning ‘rose’), a nod to both its pink hues and the island nation flower.

Scientists from the California Academy of Sciences, the University of Sydney, the Maldives Marine Research Institute (MMRI), and the Field Museum collaborated on the discovery as part of the Academy’s Hope for Reefs initiative aimed at better understanding and protecting coral reefs around the world."

The ones on Reef Pro also have the yellow on the anterior dorsal fin like this one. Wasn't that the differentiator? Or are they going with just collection location?

Just saw this news story on channel 7 ABC news out of NYC. What a fish! I want one. The reason I mentioned the specific tv channel because I also just found out Lee Goldberg, the weather guy, is also a saltwater geek. How do you like that?

They are one of the more fiesty fairy wrasses, although so far mine is getting along great with the cebu lubbocki, pintail, rhomboid, and bathyphilus. Also in with a bunch of other planktivores (green chromis, orangeline chromis, royal gramma, firefish, fathead anthias, fourmanoiri tilefish) and with other fish including 2 Halichoeres wrasses (timor and radiant) without issue. Feeding the tank heavily I see no aggression between the fish, and the newly described rosey scaled, the rhomboid, and the bathyphilus were all added as the last fish to the display at the same time. Hopefully they continue to get along as they grow (all female now).

The question is, will the price rise for Cirrhilabrus finifenmaa. Im pretty sure they’ve been imported into the hobby as C. rubrisquamis so, they would probably be relatively cheap for a “new” wrasse but will it rise due to people wanting it or due to it being described.
