Still had water in the ATO so lost less then 5 gallons. Seems like the cold shortened the rubber tubing or something

I have heard cold can shorten alot of things.

I just don't know what to do with this tank. Do I just leave it be or do work on it. Both have potential to make it better or worse. Right now it just depresses me.

If stuff is dying, imo, it time to do something. Did you hang some filter floss yet, does it catch the dinos? And the foam on waters surface seemed to preface this. Start shutting equipment down until it stops. The tank should be fine with no sump, skimmer, nothing. Just a box of rocks with flow- if foam still collects I would think something is in your water

The foam is significantly better now the skimmer is working. Which is why I'm thinking of just leaving it for a while and see if this works gs recover?

Get some filter floss hanging. It's pretty gratifying to catch and remove the dino. It immediately starts working and keeps it off your corals

I was thinking right in the display, directly in the highest flow/ light area. You can use the magnet of a powehead to hold it, and drape it over. But I do this with the blue white filter floss mat, might be easier

Cheap microscope isn't bad to have on hand. They usually come with some glass slides. Quick drop of goop, smear around, put into focus and camera pic in the lens and people can help with IDing it. I need to get on that for my dinos--I suspect I've got amphidinium this time.

Also anyone having issues where R2R suddenly reloads, and time travels back to a later state of the thread you are looking at? Its happening a lot to me.
