You made a mini human you deserved a bit of splurge. I get it tho. I am thinking making this one a FOLR tank so no special lights or additives will be needed. So hoping that will keep costs a bit more managable. Just want to get some things that I can't keep in the 180g.

Oh, believe me. I'd love a dogface puffer and a dragon wrasse. Space is very limited. Would have to be basement. But, I've let the spiders have that....

Went to see @F i s h y today for a drop off/pick up with @MrsBugmaster . While there decided the 180g was just not big enough. When I got back talked to the man about how we did the engineering for the headers and floor Jack's to see if maybe I could get something bigger in it's place. He brought up some good points on why an upgrade would not be a good idea. BUT said he would support replacing the FW tank with a new SW set up. I will consider that a win.
So now I think this may be some kind of trap. Also I wonder if I should break down the office tank, and make the dining room the new office? Or do I leave things as is?
If I do go forward with the switch it would be a 120g or less 48x24x??. Aio would be preferred only because it would be difficult to tie it into the 180g system in the basement with out one heck of a return pump or converting the other half of the basement. I could also just run the sump under the tank but then I'm lugging buckets around (boooo).
So I'm at a crossroads. Sorry for blabbering on maybe I should just forget the whole idea..........nahhhh that wouldn't be any fun.

I say sleep on it for a few nights and really think about what you want to do that you can't or aren't already doing. My WB 330 was to replace an aging tank and give the tangs more swim room. Before that I wanted to try a dry rock barebottom start up using bottled bac because it was something I had never done so I did it. From reading, I think reef moonshiners was your last next step. If you have a vision for the next next step I say go for it.

Agreed impulse control is not my forte. This would be a winter project for sure. Too much summer fun planned already.

Home, safe. Man did a heck of a job keeping it functional. Skimmer overflowed at some point between Sunday and today and made a mess. All fish are accounted for and all the coral looks great. New stuff in and acclimating. Updates later. Need to clean the glass.

What the fork universe?! Everything was FINE. Then the tank switched to feed mode at 5 and the ATO which I just filled up with 20g of water malfunctioned. The sump overflowed in the basement. All cleaned up but salinity dropped to 1.0245. Not terrible, could have been way worse. Water pooled mostly on the far rigjt corner but I still had to move a ton to get the towels to sop it up. Put a container of salt in the sump to bring salinity back up tonight. And pulled ato off so evaporation should help too. Looks like I'm not setting up the baby tank back up since I'm stealing the ato from it to replace this one. I have no clue what happened. None.
