Third time better be the charm

Just throwing this out there. My 180g is on the main floor (single story ranch) sump is a DIY 125g tank in the basement. A couple of months ago I started dosing kalk using a brs 50ml minute doser on a digital timer. Took a while to get the amount dialed in but now its rock solid at 8 dKH regardless of what time a day I test (no monitor) I think the key to this working tho is having enough evaporation rate to be able to supplement enough kalk. I'm dosing 7200 ml of fully saturated kalk a day. Kalk I just mix in a 30g brute at 8tsp kalk to 4g RODI.
But after typing and rereading some posts this it probably wouldn't work for you due to the low pH. I'm not much at checking pH but the few times I have it's been 8.4

Yeah my evaporation rate is not 2 gallons a day. That was one of the limiting factors for me and using kalk. House gets dry but not that dry :)

Water test Wednesday
1.024. 25.5c
Ph 7.8
No 25
Po 73. .224
Alk .54 7.00
Ca .15 425
MG 1500 +2 drops.
I NEED to get the ph up. Alk won't move until then. Got a monitor to hook up to a scrubber. Monitor was defective. Sending back hoping for a replacement soon. Won't hook up scrubber without it.
Dosing alk at 72ml per day ca at 48ml per day. Ca has been steady alk still staying low.
Sump is in basement skimmer running 24/7. Can't open windows and can't run tube outside. Scrubber is only option. This is the negative of a basement sump. Looked at last years #s but was dosing silicates to combat dinos so alk was high due to same.
Going to turn off skimmer to see if that helps but worried that po/no will go up.
What would happen if you raised salinity to 1.026?

It's likely user test error. I vary in salinity a hair here and there. I haven't done a water change in some time. I can try it to see what happens. Just need to move the ato sensor down lower.

I believe he's 14. @Reeflix never did actually tell us, he just says "Close enough"

He's very cryptic.

what about an airstone in sump ?
i use dual 4" ones in mingi tank ,just cause they are large fish

that would work but the air that it would be pulling is the same air the skimmer is pulling, basement air, which I think is the problem. high co2 in basement. thats why i was hoping to hook up the scrubber to the skimmer to pull out the co2 and hopefully increase the PH as a result. i have ordered another PH monitor and hope to have the scrubber hooked up next week.

Yes. But a higher rate of gas exchange scrubbing off the co2
