The frame for the stand is complete! We are going to wait until the tank is in place to put on the outer plywood because we want it to come up high enough to cover the bottom brace. One bad thing, hopefully not too bad, is that we used pressure treated lumber ;Facepalm;Facepalm;Facepalm We had no idea we shouldn’t. Hopefully it doesn’t shrink too bad. Right now everything is fitting nice and tight and square and plumb.
Yea put it where it can dry so hopefully it doesn't move any more. When you build the canopy use Russian Birch Marine Grade Plywood. It doesn't move, warp or fail. Three times more plys than regular plywood. Enjoy your build!

Where to do you get that? Haven’t seen it anywhere around here. We were planning on using regular 1/2inch sanded pine plywood. We got some heavy duty hinges for the doors.

Very cool build. Im of the OCD type and cant imagine seeing cords on a peninsula but in this instance Id go this route if I had to get something on the far end.
Almost invisible hiding cords in the canopy.

Finally had a moment to watch the video. That’s a really cool idea, but man would that be a pain to clean those all the time.

Is it okay to use two different sized heaters? 2x600 watt seems like overkill. Would a 600w + a 300w be okay? Any have suggestions? Planning on using BRS titanium heaters with their controller as primary and apex as backup controller.

Here's our potential stocking list for the tank. We'll be combining the fish from our two current tanks, and adding more. What does everyone think? Too many fish? Just right? Any obvious compatibility issues? Keep in mind we feed heavy to minimize aggression, and we'll be running a large skimmer plus a refugium to export nutrients, and I typically do weekly/bi-weekly water changes.

Fish we already have:
Yellow tang (about 3.5 inches currently)
Sailfin tang (about 3 inches currently)
Coral Beauty
2 pairs of clowns (ocellaris I think)
3 bartlett anthias
Ornate leopard wrasse
Yellow coris wrasse
Melanarus wrasse
Sleeper banded goby
Tiger ward goby
Pink spotted goby
Starry blenny
Zebra barred dartfish
Blue/green chromis
Royal gramma

Fish we want (in order of most wanted):
Powder blue tang
Blue Face angel
1 or 2 more yellow tangs
Gem tang (only if prices drop)
3 Lyretail anthias
Magnificent foxface
Regal angel
Hippo Tang
Pearlscale Butterflyfish
Mandarin goby
Lavender tang
Whitetail bristletooth tang
Saddle Valentini puffer
Marble wrasse
Flame angel
Midas blenny
Hawkfish

That's probably way too many right,? but where do we have to draw the stop line?

Work on the canopy has started!!! Tale as old as time, father teaching son how to use a drill!

On another note, my smallest Bartlett anthias has disappeared. Do they tend to kill each other off?

Following!

have you checked around the tank or rims for the anthias? I remember having a carpet surfer or two.

Looking great, when it comes to blenny's I love my tail spot and he is an algae eater
My starry blenny is one of my favorite fish, he’s such a goof! I’ve always loved midas blennies too, they’re faces always just look so happy. I hope I can have both in a 310g.
