Panda, sometimes a display will look better if it's not centered or balanced. By moving the rockwork slightly off center you keep the viewers eye moving around the tank instead of focused, centered only.

Great thread. Building a 120 (4'x2'x2') and trying to be creative with the aquascape, getting lots of ideas here.

This looks pretty good. I'd open it up a bit more and make the heights vary a little more. Take some of the rocks off of the sand in the middle and use them to build the right side up a little higher. You'll get better negative space and more scape with the varying heights. Maybe leave one zoa rock on the sand by itself with one short pile of rocks on theft and one taller one on the right?

Hi guys.

Any tips on my scape? I like the base layers but can't decide what to do higher up.

I have lots of caves and overhangs but the top is a little boring to me.

Any advice?

I honestly wouldn't change a thing
Maybe add some Tonga pieces that come forward from the top area to give a 3D effect.
But honestly I love it

I would look to add more height to the tank. You don't necessarily have to worry about having something end to end, leaving some space in order to get more height out of your rocks will do wonders.

I just redid my scape the other night. I am a fan of making caves and bridges for the fish to swim in and out of. I like to make my rock work look kind of like a design.

My suggestion - view the blog - members tanks on here. Will give you many ideas. You can build from ground level as I did and make a wall of specimens
