Tips for acclimating/introducing venomous fish?

I have a one spot foxface arriving from Dr. Reef tomorrow, and I am wondering how people usually handle these fish when it comes time to move them from bag to tank or from tank to tank. Any special precautions? Are you just opening the bag and dumping them in without getting your hands near them? Do you wear rubber kitchen/workers gloves? Naturally, there will be some acclimation involved, so I imagine no one is dumping an entire bucket of water with the fish back in the tank, so how are you doing it?

I just want to say that I'm tagging along here, and I've often felt that we need a reaction button for "interesting!". This is a great question, I'm interested to hear the replies.

Thanks! New foxface and copperband arriving tomorrow. I had a flasher wrasse ordered, but it wasn't healthy enough to send (questionable what that means), so they are replacing with another flasher in a few weeks.

Thanks, yes much better. Tank is turning around, too, although the phosphates have been quite stubborn. I'm not ready to start throwing acros in there, yet, but not worried about a crash any longer. Some cyano growing in a dead space in the back, but the leopard wrasse seems to think it is a trampoline and keeps bouncing on it, kicking sand and cyano up in the tank. It's not very bad, though. Might have to up flow a bit.

Acclimate like normal and then kinda sandwitch these guys on the sides and do a very fast move. Their spines tend to get caught in nets and they flip out and can hurt themselves

And fingers crossed that this copperband is an eater. I've got white worms going and lots of frozen to try out as well as freeze dried black worms. Also the copperband feeder. We'll see how it goes!

I'm really loath to use the net. I had to use it to catch my fairy wrasse in the tank transfer and his teeth got caught in the net--extraordinarily stressful for both of us! I had him in my hand at the surface of the new tank's water gently massaging his mouth till it let loose. Seemed like an hour!

Maybe I'll sandwich with a tupper, scoop and dump. Will wear the yellow kitchen gloves just in case.

when i got one (granted it was small) i used two sponges (brand new of course) on the sides of it to gently move it from bucket to the tank after acclimation
but none of that mattered as a few months later doing maintenance bro poked me

Their venom isnt super bad honestly. And thats coming from someone desthly allergic to lion-fish venom and bees! Not pleasant by any means but not awful either. Burns for a minute but hot water on it helps

Will keep that in mind!

If you had an extra hang-on acclimation container you could drill some holes in the bottom and transfer fish and acclimation water to the one with holes over a bucket so no water goes in your tank then gently dump the foxface into your tank
