Torch is dying??

I bought torch from LFS yesterday. It pretty healthy when it still in the bag when acclimate. However, when I put it on the sand bed with moderate flow and it doesn't look good at all. I just turn off the powerhead in few days to see how it react.

What are your parameters and lighting? Generally they prefer low light and low flow.

It’s still new to the tank. Give it some time. Med light med flow is what I use. Check if it’s damaged. It looks retracted but not dying.

It'll take a few days for it to fully acclimate. Low light and low flow to start, then gradually move.

Mine looked like that when I first introduced it.

After a few months it looks like this now

Flow and light and....time make a big difference. As long as it looks healthy and you see no visible infestation I'd wait a week to see if it looks fuller, if not then maybe more to another spot and try another week etc....

Low light Low flow to begin the acclimation in your tank... after acclimation you can goto medium
Light and flow. You seem to have it close to the side of the glass. Depending on your return and power head placement, it may be getting more flow.

It looks like a Neon Green torch, they take time... see my pics...

The green and purple torch is wide open while neon green is not as much. But they open up and are swaying..

I put into shade with no light but at moderate to high flow. I think that is the reason why it retracted. My nitrate also 4-5, so it is not too higj for LPS

It doesn't damage at all, but when I introduced into my display tank. I punt into moderate to high flow for 24 hours that may be a reason why it suffer

It close to glass but it stay at shade with no light. I juat turn off the power head in couple days. Torch seem like take more time to aclimate than hammer and acan???

Move it away from the glass, give some light and low flow. You will see if open up. They take time!!
