Hi All,
I’m having big issues with my Trachy all of a sudden. I’ve had this coral for about 4 months now and up until about a month ago it has always been blown up and inflated and happy.
I first noticed what I thought were eggs, fluorescent mucous like deposits. (Found out this was just the Corals slime on another thread) I Stupidly tried to brush some of these off with a very soft tooth brush when dipping the coral. I did do some damage, but the coral was still inflating and looking happy albeit with these dots on it.
fast forward to this week and the coral is oozing slime with tiny bits of brown flecks in it. When I pick it up the slime clots.
move moved it away from its neighbours incase there was some coral fighting happening, but I don’t think it’s neighbours were close enough to sting.
I did have my phosphate levels get away from me to 0.38ppm, while trying to get my hands on some Hanna reagent. I have since lowered them down into range (0.08) by dosing LaCl which
seems to have only made matters worse.
it’s positioned in relatively low light low flow at the bottom of the tank
I have attached pictures from today after another dip. Some critters came off but not anything crazy. There is some tissue loss now as well.
I should mention that all my other corals are perfectly happy and growing.
anything I can do? I’ve asked staff at both my LFS no one has any idea.

Calcium 420ppm
Magnesium 1300ppm
Nitrates 3.5ppm
Phosphate 0.08ppm (I intend to lower this further to about 0.03ppm)
