Triton to Aqua forest

Hi all,

Ive been on the Triton method with no water changes for at least a year now. its a mixed reef but Acro and Euphyllia heavy.
My problem is im not getting the color i was hoping for. I try to raise my nitrates to roughly 5 but then the triton test comes back saying they cant test everything because my nitrates are to high.

I'm debating on switching to the Aqua forest brand. but i guess my question is...
will this be the same as the triton method? most the stuff i read points to yes but nto a very clear answer.

has anybody switched from triton to aquaforest?

im looking for
no water changes.
simply dial in and dose the 3 or 4 daily chemicals
get your water tested and they will tell you exactly how much of whatever else is missing
does that about sum up what aqua forest does?

anybody have any preferences/better results between the two?

You could always not do water changes and just dose alk, cal and mag. No need to do a certain 'system', most of them are overpriced for what you get. A lot of reefers do just that... no water changes and dose the essentials. You can also do an occasional ICP to see where you are at.

No sure what you mean by Aquaforest.

If you mean using Alk, Ca, Mg and their Mineral Salt and then adding Components Strong - I've been running that for a few years now with very few water changes. 6 monthly ICP shows noting out of the ordinary.

If anything does get significantly out of balance I just do a few back to back 10% water changes to bring it back to baseline.

Of course, it's the stuff that you can't measure that always sits at the back of mind with low/no water change regime.
