I have a few 24v backups I used for my old gyres. Any chance I could loop them in as backups?? Thanks again.

Yes, but keep in mind that the pumps gets considerably stronger and this can result in noise and vibration you may not want. The prop speed increases considerably and that does result in more noise and vibration, especially with the 6075. From our pumps, only 6040 would be damaged by 24V, the other models can handle 24V, flow increases about 35% but energy efficiency goes down and noise and vibration go up.

If you remove the two screws and nuts you can flip the clamps around and it lifts it the height of the clamp
Maybe I am looking at it wrong but doesnt this lower the unit as opposed to raising it?

Thanks again. So are they technically 12V?

That doesn't really have an answer, the motors can do both, 12V or 24V, the efficiency and noise levels are optimal at 12V but the motors are completely capable of running at 24V. In the case of 6105, all a 6255 is is a 6105 running at 24V with much stronger magnet holders.

Solved.
If all else fails remove the cardboard packing and look for a small white envelope one which contains the US adapter that slides into place. 🤪

Thankfully I read this post before I got. The prongs not popping up to plug in threw me for a loop, then I remembered reading something about someone else having issues.

It should be more clear that the Plug comes as it is but requires one of the 2 adapters to be slide on to get the correct plug. I even watched the Tunze Video about the setup and this (important) aspect was not there.

Just discovered an awesome feature. Being suspended in the water I'm not getting little limpets hatching out inside like I do on my MP40 requiring me to pull one every few days when it gets noisy.
Also being able to lift them out of the mount and hold them with one hand while cleaning the glass is pretty nice too

I love having them off the glass. My new lid finally arrived so my 6105 ORCA should go on tomorrow. I think it will be too much though 😂

I plan to redo a video on ORCA set up and will include this. We never anticipated this being an issue. Such universal type power supplies are fairly common now, generally power supplies can work on any voltage/frequency and the only obstacle was the plug, Bosch and many other mainstream manufacturers use such power supplies now as one product can be sold anywhere. I had generally assumed the function would be fairly self explanatory.

Ordered a 6105 Saturday. Shipped today, and should arrive by Thursday. Just for curiosity sake while i wait and stare at my tank planning, can anyone tell me what the absolute highest mounting height is stock, without modifications? To the bottom of the wave maker if possible? I saw one picture that shows I think something like 129mm, but that was to the center of the horse shoe power head mounting bracket to the bottom of the orca enclosure, after reading this entire thread, it seems I underestimated powerhead size haha.

Unfortunately I am travelling and this would require being at the warehouse to measure one, I get back Wednesday.

No worries, im just sitting in front of my tank thinking about the daunting idea of rearranging my entire flow setup haha. If someone has the measurement, great. If not, I'll figure it out when it arrives and wing it lol

Can you make the 6105 have a gentle, wide flow like the 6075 (that is just more powerful for an SPS tank)? I think there are two cones one for a narrow powerful stream to go long distances and wider flow option like the 6075 but I am just trying to confirm.

I haven't gotten mine yet, but i think the 6105 comes with two flow nozzles/cages/cones whatever you want to call them. Ones more like a jet, the other is wider. Like i said, cant confirm 100% but pretty sure i read that

The 6105 has a wide and narrow nozzle. I don’t think the wide nozzle is as wide or gentle as the 6075 though

The 6105 has a wide and narrow nozzle. I don’t think the wide nozzle is as wide or gentle as the 6075 though

That is interesting. So maybe the concept of using the larger pump, the 6105, at a lower power to mimic the 6075 at a higher power (but having headroom to push it harder down the road for more flow or a bigger tank) is not really a valid idea.

I have the 6075 and have it up to 95% at some points of the arc. If I get a second one I was considering the larger 6105. In my mind the flow pattern (with the wide attachment) would be wider than the 6075 so agitate the water in a wider area at one time and allow for more headroom to not be running the pump so hard.

I know Roger commented some about the flow difference (one sucking water back in as it pushes it out) but maybe Roger or someone else can elaborate more specifically on the attributes of the flow pattern and capabilities of one vs the other?
