I have an ORCA 6105 but the pump is too much pump for my tank.

I already have a couple of 6075 HUB edition pumps though. Can I pull the 6105 pump off the ORCA and put the 6075 I already have in it's place? And if so, can I run the 6105 that I remove from the ORCA off of the HUB controller that came with my 6075?

What size is your tank that the 6105 is too big for? I'm trying to decide between a pair of 6075s or 6105s for my 60x22x24" tank. Thanks!

It's a 130, but I think it's more about the length of the tank. This one is only 36x36x24. I'd think it would be fine on a 60" tank.

For a 5 foot tank, I’d opt for the 6105 personally. The 6075 loses steam around 3 feet

Thanks for that. I have the option of installing them on the sides of the overflow box or in the corners. I also haven't decided whether to get Orcas just yet or start with just the powerheads, as the tank is mostly LPS now and won't have much SPS for a while. I could always add the Orca kit later if I end up with lots of SPS colonies. What do you guys think would give the best flow pattern?

The Overflow box position will be the most efficient in terms of flow strength to more of the reef but you will need to mount on the front of the overflow to get a wider oscillation angle range. In the back you would only be able to really use 90 degrees.

I have a 6105 on my Orca in the center of my 8’ tank and it does a great job. I thought about trying a 6255 in the clamp but I would have to cut it off when it hit the center of the tank as it would be way too much flow

Im got 6255 on my 96x30x30 tank, and its not to much flow at all. In the middle of my tank also

Are you using it on the ORCA? I was wondering if it was too much flow for the unit since they don’t have it as an combo option

yes, i am using it on orca! but i have it dialed down to 70% only because the tunze making hummmmm noise at 100% kind of annoying. also at 100% it forces the pump from thrust to touch the back to the tank. in other words the orcas bracket/shaft is not strong enough to support 6255 at 100%

That’s what I was wondering, I have my 6255 pointed down the length of the tank (no hum for me at 100% so that may be the orca) so I will keep it there as the 6105 seem to be plenty for the middle of a 8’ tank. I see it move the sand on the sides of the tank when it sweeps so it is probably a good size for a 4’ tank. I’m really happy with the two 6105’s and 1 6255. Probably going to get rid of the two gyres I have now as they are too much work to keep clean

Can I see a picture of your 8ft tank. Im more curious about amount of corals you have in it on both ends of the tank. I cant have a thriving acropora on ends of my tank, ok in the middle. Here is mine, Orca with 6255 tunze. And gyros on both ends.

You can turn it way down and speed up the oscillation for the center as well, you can control oscillation speed and pump speed within set angle ranges. If you want you could turn it off as well.
