I'm quite restricted in terms of space, so I'm planning to buy two 10G tanks (20" long x 10" wide x 12” high) to quarantine up to 3 tangs at the same time.
Would this work for quarantine, or am I just asking for big stress/aggression issues?

Thanks!

P.S. My DT is a 5 ft 100G. I want to introduce them together to minimise aggression issues.

The question to me is 'what size tangs'.

I don't really get to pick.

Long story short. In the 90s aquariums became kind of luxury / status symbol where I live. So everyone in town except for very very few people, just buy online.

The online shops generally get you to pick a fish size among XS, S, M, M/L, L, but the actual size is very species specific.

How big a tang would you be comfortable quarantining in a 10G?

There are two criteria for tank size; biological loading and territorial space. This pushes the envelope for both. If you have a solid bio filter, that will go a long way in helping it work. The territorial issues has to do with the size of the tangs and species involved: 3 tiny tomini tangs would work, but 3 4” Achilles would not.

All in a 10G?
Yes. If they are small fish then you are ok. I have 2 tangs in same tank right now qt. 10 gallon.

I have a gem tang and a chocolate tang. I ordered online. The gem tang was as described, but the chocolate came severely undersized. It's about the size of a quarter
So no issues.
