Types of fish?

I have a nuvo 20 that has been up for1.5 or 2 years now. Unfortunately I had a crash and wanting to start over. I'm trying to figure out what fish I want for this tank. I'm for sure going with 2 Clowns (a moca for sure and maybe a gladiator) high fin goby with pistol shrimp. I thought about 2 fire fish and maybe 2 banggai cardinals. My last fire fish always stayed in the rock so the only fish out were the Clowns. Would this be to many fish or do you guys feel I'd be ok? What other ideas would u guys have to possibly replace the fire fish and or cardinals?

I have a pair of mocha clownfish, a hector's goby, and a yellow watchman goby my nano tank that is 15 gallons. There is no issues, and my clownfish don't bully any of the others. I highly recommend looking into the hector's goby, as I had never heard of it until I saw it at the local fish store. Perfect for any nano tank. I think the list you have would work out pretty good otherwise.

I'll look into that goby. They pair well with a pistol shrimp as I really like that Relationship they can have with a goby

In my nano I have;
- Black Clown Goby
- 2x Peppermint shrimp (Wurdemanni)
- Yasha Goby
- Dwarf golden boxer shrimp (Scuttelatus)
- 2x Nassarius snails
- Bumblebee snail
- Lineatus blenny
- Pink streaked wrasse
I have two other fish that are not going to be in there forever and just use this tank as a grow out.
In this tank I have been wanting to add (Later down the line);
- Yellow Headed Jawfish
- Maybe a common clownfish (Id prefer a longfin or mocha though).

I find inverts are also quite important in a nano because they need spaces to hide, help deal with issues in a tank and they add more character to a tank in the night!

7 fish is a lot for a 20g, I have six small fish in a 28g and it’s borderline too much. It’s not so much that biological filter wouldn’t be able to handle the bioload, it’s more that there’s not enough room and/territory for 7 fish to establish territory or have hiding spots. I also think that it would look too busy.

+1 to this however, if you get enough rock and caves it’s not impossible however also not ideal (I’m thinking on limiting my tank to just 5 fish long term, Definitely want a YHJ though since that’s the fish that got me into the nano side of the hobby).
