[roscoe]

I'm looking to get a video cam corder so I can video tape my daughter growing up. I found this one that is also water proof. does any one here have experience with this? Here is a link to it.

Another one I am looking at.

Sanyo - Xacti WH1 Water-Resistant High-Definition Digital Camcorder w/2.5" LCD Monitor - Yellow - VPC-WH1YL

The 1st one does'nt say if it records sound or not.. This one is a bit bigger. It would be cool to take this snorkling on my Hawaii vacation next year.

I would do this setup

Vholdr ContourHD 1080p Wearable Camcorder Pkg. with 2GB MicroSDHC + FREE Shipping & POV Filming Guide - PointofViewCameras.com

VholdR ContourHD Waterproof Case with Tripod Mount - Product #: 3300 - PointofViewCameras.com

I have used these cameras and the quality is amazing. Its 1080P also. The ones you are looking at are only 720i and the CCDs on them are not that good. Just my .02 :nerd:

Thanks for the link to that camera! That looks pretty neat.

I don't have THAT sanyo xacti but I have the Sanyo Xacti 1010HD and I have to say it is really amazing. So I would guess the waterproof xacti is just as nice. I have the Casio Exilim g1 for my underwater photography. It shoots 12.1 megapixel photos but doesn't take HD video. The video's it takes are basically youtube ready.

Special Features - EX-G1RD - EXILIM G - Cameras - Products - CASIO

You will be very angryface at the video quality... comparable to those little 49.99 "HD" cams.

The 1010 Bongo listed about is a different caliber of "HD" cam.
