Ya, that was just for the first fill up. Should have been patient and waited for my RO unit. Would have saved a lot of head aches with the byropsis

Nice build. Nice selection of fish and coral also. Looks like you have the Bryopsis under control. I used the elevated Mag and manual removal to beat it also. Keep up the nice work. :bigsmile: Will definitely be following along. I can't wait to start a build for my upgrade, it'll be a couple months though.

Thanks Paul, this tank has been a lot of fun so far. Other than the usual regrets of not going bigger and better planning on a sump/fug. Need a bigger skimmer already and can't fit it.

Ya I wouldnt have used tap water at all..

If you live near Great Lakes Aquariums....right down 14mile at main in the
same plaza as the ACO. There is a place called "Water To Go"..They have
12 stage filtered RO/DI water for .49 cents a gallon.

Its the purest water ive ever seen. They even have a self serve station
outside incase you need water after hours..I buy all my water there..

Great Lakes Aquariums is awesome!...My 25 x 25 x 18 cube is from there
and they just built my new 48 x 30 x 12 rimless shallow reef tank..

White balance!

I did tweek the white balance, all corals are true representations of their actuall colors, except the clams for some reason.

Any tips on how to better adjust it?

Of all my other tank I've ever had I never had even the slightest problem what so ever with the tap in my community and my tanks.
On this tank from the beginning I knew I wanted to go RO. just didn't have the patients to wait another week for the RO unit to come in.
Obviously its here and has been used!

BN looks good, that thing will grow fast when placed right. gimp.org is a good free photo editing program that has a lot of easy to use, reef friendly editing options.

Absolutely, The thing to keep in mind when photographing a reef tank is the lighting. Most reef setups, the lighting is very different in different parts/heights of the tank so you have to compensate each photo in most cases. For example, one setting of the camera might be perfect for shooting something high in the tank, and not so hot on shooting lower parts, or different specs.

By using a program like this one, you can get more of a self feel for what each photo may need individually. I'm not 100% on your specific camera model itself, but with my camera I can't just use a camera setting to achieve the photograph I desire, for non-reef shoots, yeah, camera setting usually work all day.

Remember, all camera are different and I'm just sharing my personal experience. I use a Olympus SP560uz.

Haha, no more with that site!
The ATO resy runs the entire length of the back of the tank. Under the DT the sump/fuge is a 22 1/2x 18 1/2x 17 inch tank. The ATO is 5 inches wide with a baffel running the length of the tank butted up to the black frame.

Thanks I appreciate it. It probably the most affordable gadget on the tank, but the coolest for sure.
Things did come together with this tank fairly quickly. I got a little anxious after not having a tank in the house for a while.
I really should do an update to this thread. Things have changed quite a bit with the frag tank as well as the DT.
