Back in February of 2020 I started my fish keeping hobby and started out with freshwater. And after having so many small tanks I finally got a 10 gallon fresh tank. All I have to do to this tank is change the water and clean out the pre filter sponge. Everything else works it’s self out! So then September came around and I started a 2 gallon pico reef tank! I learned so much from it just getting into the saltwater side. And it had its ups and downs and design flaws. I had a refugium on it and an AT to of system with a bloodroots thermometer. With the light I made a fan to go behind it to force out the heat and you will see why, also found that the light was burning my tank cover. And when I moved the 2 gallon up into its own shelf I put a exterior filter on it (was a bad idea) and the tank soon started to become unstable for some reason. So I fixed the problem by upgrading to a better system! The marineland 5 gallon, I have an ATO top off system, 2 temperature setting heaters on a heat controller, a BT thermometer, the same light, skimmer, 2 soaring pumps for kalkwasser and sodium nitrite, and a UV light just in case I need to use it. It’s a fantastic little set up and I can’t wait for it to mature.
