Hey everyone! It's finally time for me to upgrade my 50-gallon mixed reef. I want a tank big enough for my yellow tang when he gets bigger, and also for my powder blue tang. I have a budget of about 2 Grand and I was wondering what tank I should get. I really like the all-in-one designs, and I love Red sea reefer!- I have their nano tank. I am open to suggestions! Feel free to tell me that my choices are wrong. :)

I think red sea is a good value. And as I'm also trying to upgrade I've looked at custom options to be able to select my sump configuration. But is at least 30% more expensive than the any comparable redsea option.

I'm thinking that if i go larger i should also automate. And the opportunity that i see with redsea is that i might be limited.

+2G just for the tank right? Cause is it's for everything it might be tight.

I really like the idea of the auto top off with their systems. I also like their all in one concept! What do you mean with

I have the 350, you definitely want to go larger. The sump space is just too tight. Look.

I have a couple of juvenile tangs, and i know I'm going to need to upgrade soon as they will not have enough room.

Would you suggest the 425?

IMO, definitely or even larger. And look at their new line XXL. That is worth the extra usd to get the flexibility in the sump and the thicker glass.

Im after the XXL750... it's 3k.

When i look back, after all the $ i have in on equipment, i should have gone larger since the beginning.

And i remember someone telling me, go as large as you can afford, and then do the rest. That person was right [emoji1]

I totally agree- I'm currently on a college budget- not much room to move around :)
