Don't be too happy about it. I just went to ship a package Fed Ex two day on Tuesday.

From Green Bay, Wisconsin to Medford Oregon was $114 with my account discount. Without it it would of been $135. Package was 12x12x12 and was 28 pounds. I actually almost crapped myself. Needless to say it went ground instead. But even that price was near double what it had been in the past. Gonna make it very hard for small businesses to compete with the big box chains. I should of found out how much overnight was. Just glad I can ship my products ground.

I thought it was a typo but the girl ran it three times. It still doesn't seem right to me. Has overnight shipping gotten that expensive?

The freight hasn't gone up that much 30% but the fuel surcharge has went up over 200%.
So the little packages that we send to that were 8.00 for Fuel service charge have went up over 24.00. Sucks to be the little guys in a big market game.

i shipped out a small package a few weeks ago using UPS cost me $82 to ship overnight. Ouch!!!

wow, has shipping corals over night gone up that much?

i haven't shipped anything since early spring, late winter. and it was usually about $60 to most places from virginia, $80 to the west coast. and about $30-$40 to a nearby state.

Yea, i just shipped some corals from ny to florida over night for about 50 bucks

I am just glad that I have a great coral vendor close by and he ships for free. It will suck though when I am ready to order some frogs and I can't find a local breeder.

I have a problem believing that article for a number of reasons. One of my best friends works for UPS and has for going on 20yrs. The las time they striked which was back in the 90's, when they signed the new agreement, part of it was so they couldnt strike again for 20yrs, and it hasnt been 20yrs... Also UPS payed several BILLION's of dollar and bought out all of their employess from the Teamsters, that happened fairly recently. I'll talk to him tonight and tell him about that article and see if there is any truth to it.

Me personally, I could careless either way, I use fedex.

Thats why lots of time we here on the southwest (San Diego) do group buy to online store and wholesellers run to save MONEY the small vendors will put an announsment on who wants what
