Hey Sarah !!! Samantha is all set for her nursing school ( Orientation tomorrow morning ) and I have the entire week off. Im on call Monday only for emergencies - not to fill in .
Not ready fully but will be as of tomorrow. Love your cute little Village. Just you being around for xmas is better than any tree !!!!

Hello,

Omg that’s so awesome she starts the week of Xmas lol let’s go Monday and come back Friday :) sure :). I had to do my Charlie Brown tree I havnt bee able to finish setting up my living room and definitely not able to set up a 9 foot tree. I’m never ready for Xmas, I’m always behind.

I only found out about this work comp when I received a letter that I did not complete that class. Then the light bulb went on. It’s sad that I had to mention it and bring it up. When I called hr they were kinda stumped and kept saying I have to get back to you, and well still saying that. But I have log time before this happened and I was not able to log off, and I was registered to attend that day and or be at work that day. I can see if I was on lunch and this happened, but I was going to the center for my class.

I haven’t spoken to any attorneys yet simply because they are trying to help me. They did make sure I still had a job and fought pretty hard for me to not lose my first year of residency.

Christmas Chronicles are on Netflix. The Elves remind me of the Gremlins. Just watched it last night with my wife and we enjoyed several laughs. Be forewarned if laughing causes pain. I remember showing my wife The God's Must Be Crazy a couple of days after a hernia repair...I did not even think about laughing causing pain for her. :(

Merry Christmas and great to see pictures of your tank again!

Hello,

@Fin how is your wife and mom doing and lol ready for Xmas etc. is your tank wet? Actually right now I’d prefer your tank over mine do to my situation.
Hi Sarah,

Thanks for asking. The wife is almost 11 weeks out from her first SI Joint fusion and is starting to get around a little better. Really wasn't able to leave the house, except to go to the doctor for a couple of months. Very slow healing. They will do her second one (on the left side) on Feb 20th, so she will have to go through all of that again. She is not looking forward to it. But, hopefully this will give her some relief.

My last day of work will be Friday January 31st and will be officially retired on Saturday Feb 1st. Getting all my ducks in a row for that now. I will turn 65 tomorrow, so I am now on Medicare (can't wait to see how that goes). Still have to get a Medi-Gap plan. Meanwhile, I am still covered at work - through Blue Cross / Blue Shield.

I haven't touched the tank in months. I am still ordering stuff for it though. Ha! I will have a few weeks to work on it after I retire, before my wife's surgery and taking care of her. Still have no idea when it will get wet, but we are at least a little closer.

I hope you have a good Christmas with the family. I know we are all really happy that you are still here among us. A long road ahead, but you will get better in time. We are all here to keep you company.

retirement? Oh, I wish !!!! Cant wait til that day (retirement) when I start the coffee maker, go to the toolbox and get my sledge hammer and place in driveway. Then make that cup of coffee and when done, go to the bedroom and unplug my alarm clock............................................... Then take the clock out to the driveway and beat the living crap out of it with that sledge hammer and never have to hear than annoying rapid alarm sound again !!

Life is short when are we able to enjoy it? I’m soooo glad @Fin your finally done and congrats,‘now I hope you live to be 120, :) it may take you that long to get your tank wet. Glad your wife is doing better, I hope after the next procedure she will be a lot better.
@Lowell Lemon lol that movie is fantastic and just hilarious. It does hurt to laugh but I manage some what. My two favorite things warm hugs and laughing is hard to do now

Things have been great. I am also watching Christmas movies. The kids and I watched Elf and Christmas Story this weekend. I am also a little tickled that @Fin 's first day of retirement will be my 50th birthday. Definitely going to toss a drink back for him amidst a few others.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas!!!

Hey Sarah, glad you are continuing to improve!

This Christmas season has been a lesson in flexibility. Last week we had tornadoes in the area that caused power issues where I work. Made for a long week. Of course, this was on top of finding out my son wasn't coming home for Christmas after all. Less than great. So, we switched around and tried to make plans to see him. It was too late to board our dog, everyone around is full. So, my wife is driving to see him right now to stay in a pet friendly hotel. I'll be heading there early Christmas morning with the dog. I'll be spending more time on the road than I will with him, but it is what it is.

So what are your plans for Christmas? I'm guessing you aren't going to be hosting a full Christmas dinner for the family.;Blackeye

Have you done anything to protect your sump from unwanted.. umm.. chemical injections? :p

Hello,

I hope all my dear friends are having that amazing time with family. Sorry @Brew12 I hope your schedule gets much better. I’m hoping you get to see your soon and take care of your dog.

I’m probably gonna just stay home and be thankful I have no pt or op for two days. My family had already bought tickets to Hawaii for two weeks. They wanted to cancel it, but talked them out. They used my ticket to have gf attend so they just don’t lose out on it.

honestly, I’m kinda glad, just for my own sanity. Being where I have to have soo much help others would not be able to enjoy. So this way it works out better. They only agreed once I had someone who could help me. Granted umm they were definitely not my first choice but hey can’t be picky right.

Hey Sarah, I’ve caught up reading these posts and had to laugh at some of your comments about being the patient instead of the provider. Every single person in healthcare should be a patient. Should be part of job training. I think the hardest part is knowing what they’re doing wrong! On the other hand it must be terrifying to Not know what’s going on. Yes, sorry everyone, we get job perks too. Kind of like cops who will look harder for a cop killer.
It’s nice to have perks. I needed surgery and had a colleague do it because I knew he was an excellent surgeon. I called him from my hospital bed and said, “David! I need better pain meds!” He asked what I wanted. I said Dilauded. In came a nurse with it. Ahh, bliss.

And you asking them to talk to you like you were 6. Lol. I’ve had that happen before. Throwing out medical terms I’ve never heard before and me being like, “Um, there’s a reason you are my Specialist. I’m not quite up to date on brain surgery. I’m OB/GYN”. Lol

The other one that made me laugh was you taking out your own staples. I totally would have done that! I mean really if you know you can do it better why wouldn’t you?!
I completely told off a young nurse in the middle of the night once for not checking my wrist band before giving me IV pain meds. I’ll bet she never, ever did that again.

No matter if you end up practicing as a doctor or doing something else this experience will have made you a more understanding, compassionate person. Personally I do believe you will stay in healthcare. You have a passion for it and now an in-depth knowledge few of us have.

You are a remarkable woman! Do not forget that. And if you ever need to be reminded just ask. I’ll be happy to remind you.

I’ve never heard of a relationship between Magnesium and algae. Low magnesium can equal excessive algae? I know that Kent Tech M can get rid of briopsis, but I’ve read that it’s actually something else in the formula that kills it, not the actual magnesium.
