When you say pro instant ocean is that reef crystals? I’ve never heard of pro instant ocean.

Hello,

From what I’m seeing box wise is all instant ocean but they do mention pro salt or aka reef crystals. I can’t confirm the last atm, but will tomorrow. I have to get more rodi water anyway :).

Good point. Only fritz and red sea comes in pro version IO Would be Reef crystals. Fritz pro would have come in a blue box

Hello,

That’s what I’m afraid of, I don’t know if it’s fritz or pro instant ocean. May just have to throw it out which kinda of a drag when it’s like so much down the drain.
Personally its a drag but id rather flush 60 gals of bad water away than inherit 60g of pure nightmare

hello,

Lol not sure it’s gonna be per day fun but I really need some amazing ideas for all my cords and wires and power supplies. I thought about loading all of the big ones will Velcro and placing them on the back of the tank glass, then go up for smaller ones etc. but my large uv sterilizer should probably go there. So I have 2 feet behind my tank. Something has to work hmmm.
Auto stores have flexible harness tubes that are split and allows you to conceal all wires and cords neatly just like the wires under the hood and dash in your vehicle and inexpensive

Let me think about this. I some times use the 3M one side sticky Velcro tape. The tape works well.

Ok, I did some thinking o_O:D

What I have seen do, is some members go Ikea a buy a small cabinet and put all of the controller gadgets in the cabinet with slight modifications and either have is separated from the stand or attached.

Here is mine that I made out of an Ikea cabinet (with a good bit of modification). I am actually going to rebuild this, or add to it. All the wires are hidden behind the center panel that I added to the cabinet. There is a glass door that goes on the front, but I have it off in this picture.

I’ve used all the big brands in the past, I still pay top dollar for tropic marin pro, I notice a major difference in quality. I don’t do water changes more than 4 times a year, so when I do, I use the best.

Hello,

Wow @Fin I’d love to see more about that cabinet and we dont have an IKEA here but sure I can find something . That is what I’m looking for, something super clean and easy. If a device goes down I really want to be able to swap it out really easy.

I feel super guilty I had two days off and just really haven’t done much lol. My motivation has been terrible and hey the kitchen is nice and clean lol. It’s amazing if I forget to feed the fish they act like I have not fed them in weeks. They get super feisty lol they are lazy and need to learn how to graze. I still need to add carbon media to the tank this weekend.

Do not feel guilty. Everyone needs days like that. Even when you have a lot to do it is absolutely okay.

Hello,

Well darling friends new and old ahhh lol here I am surprise, surprise, surprise lol. Yes still been busy with work and some inservice, but I’m hoping to actually post daily again. (Yeah right I have said this what three times now if I aim low lol). But it’s life but also realized most of my friends are here and it’s no fun to Kiss all of you.

Well let’s see what’s new ahhhhh I did empty like another 12 boxes lol:). It was crazy cold so I kinda wrapped myself up and hide in more blankets. Actually it rained something crazy and we had close to half an inch of hail in some spots.

What’s new with my tank, well it’s been almost a month wow it’s been 30 days already hey maybe it will grow even faster now, doubt it’s but hey wishful right. As busy as I have been I kinda just ahhh did not much with it and to my surprise it’s bouncing back. I am still dosing the alkalinity and cal, and nopox daily manually, exact same amount each day. I have not tested my water in 2 weeks and all fish doing good, corals have finally stablaized, well what’s left lol. I have been adding a capful of seed once a week. I also use fuel (6 caps) twice a week. Even one tang less it seems like my fish are always starving.
I still feed five frozen cubes a day literally and (as I mix it in a like small coke glass I pour it in thirds). It’s a frenzy and definitely not hitting the sand bed. So may need to feed more and yes my clown still bites me before and after I feed. (He’s asking for it).

The wire mess well I have not started but have started looking for viable housing cabinets for all of them. Little to my surprise (I still have two wave makers (new ones ) not sure where they ran off too, but will add too more so it will have 7 total plus gyre and twin return pumps.
I am thinking about setting these to like tidal surge.
I sadly have not set up everything the old way with my current usa blue tooth. It’s pointless since I have to unplug everything anyway.

I have had my heaters for almost 2 years now and strongly thinking about doing the kit where it comes with two heaters and the digital controller. Like I need more things on my tank, yet it works I may just leave it alone. I just know heaters sometimes fail internally and end up sending live current through the water. Of course a new one made incorrectly will do the same thing, hmmm dilemmas.

Thanks for the kiss. I bet in 5-6 months the tank will be sailing again with lots of new growth. It will look different than before, maybe even better. We stick with it and are amazed by it over and over.

Hello,

Omg I hate auto correct lol sorry meant to say miss my dear friends. The one time, just the one time i
Don’t proof read it comes back on me lol. I knew that was an important lesson in English class. See now this is how mono spreads lol kids not paying attention and instead of proof reading to say miss say I kiss. So can’t believe I missed that.

Definitely sticking with it and amazingly some corals have responded very well and my blue green hammer has really liked ahhh what ever I did. No idea what it is but sure I will just keep doing what I am.

Youre doing well. Take one step at a time with tank and prioritize from most important to least important.
As NY Caveman said, we don't see things progress right away as nothing goes fast in saltwater but in a matter of months, you will say " Look at my masterpiece ! "
Do monitor your alk-mag-CA but do not chase numbers in the process. Everything will S L O W L Y pan out.

Hello,

So what some may not know is I use to make gingerbread houses. Well it’s my mum’s bday tomorrow so I had the bakery make a cake and do a basic buttermilk frosting. Then I made my own and with my dye kit and bags I did a flower cake since it’s fall it has tons of colors. So do you think she will like it ?
