So In my 125(now fish only) I'm afraid some of the Green chromis damsels I've had in that tank must've had Uronema Marinum. I can't seem to keep any Green Chromis any more, they either die within a day or two or maybe last a week or two but in most cases when I fish them out there's like red sores/ blotches on there body. And the last go around I lost the green chromis damsels plus a tang and a couple of squirrel fish. I'm assuming it was the same culprit? I didn't see much on the squirrel fish but the tang did have blotches on his side. I read online that this is free floating parasite and copper won't kill it. I read something like Metro plex should, so I've been treating the water directly(1 measuring spoon per 10 gallons every 2 days). Treated two weeks then added some more chromis and I still seem to be losing the green chromis so I'm not sure the metro worked. Is there something else you'd use to kill Uronema ? Or treat differently?
Thanks!

With chromis, the biggest step is prevention. I highly recommend a ruby rally pro bath of 60-90 minutes. Copper wont work and while it works slower, Ruby Rally will.
By chance , do you have any pics of the fish mentioned to see and confirm?
Also, keeping debris, not overfeeding and not allowing salinity to get low are preventative measures.
Typical uronema will be oval shaped with tissue compromise or redness

Uronema can live in a tank - without fish - the key thing - I would suggest in addition to the above is keeping a pristine tank - frequent siphoning of waste from the bottom of the tank, etc. And watching for dirty conditions - in which uronema can live alone. There is no other great solution to this - if you treat the fish - and have uronema in the tank - they may get it anyway. You could also consider switching the source where you're buying the chromis. Another option would be trying to treat the entire tank with ruby reef pro when you add the fish. Hope this helps.

Inter cellular Uronema isn’t really treatable. Externally, I’ve used formalin or chloroquine.

Thank you for your advice. I've used ruby rally before for other things but it didn't work that well for me. I don't have any ruby rally, just kick ick, coppersafe, general cure and of course metroplex. So metroplex won't work against uronema whether you add it to the water or put it in there food? What's too low for salinity? It's a fish only tank so I keep it 1.019-1.021 . Thanks

Oooh, thats an issue. Salinity at 1.024 and also equalize salinity to the display tank when acclimating. As for meds you have, none of those. Formalin based is best but near impossible to find. Chloroquine Phosphate will also work but must be used precisely.

1.024 in a fish only tank? I that salinity that high was only for reef tanks? I read somewhere on here(I believe) that yes formalin works best but hard too find like you said and also I read that Metronidazole would work as well that's why I asked about metroplex. I can get some ruby rally if you think it will work better than what I'm using? Treat the water with it plus the bath for new fish? I don't have a a quarantine tank for this particular tank, I usually just put Quarantined fish in it. But I'm affraid to put anything new in it until I get this parasite out. Ruby rally will kill it?
Thanks again!

Reef tanks 1.025-1.026
Roby along with removing excess waste and maintaining salinity will very much help. In lieu of quarantine tank you can use a rubbermaid type tub but a quarantine tank can be as simple as a tank from a second hand store or a starter kit from Walmart which most of the needed essentials.
