Right with the common use of magnets now a days I would pay a little more for it if it had them. I dont know where to buy safe magnets for a reef but it could be done easilyYeah! The suction cups do suck! Terribly.
Curious....as a fellow 'minimalist' do you run one? I find I have to or I get this dust type algae making an appearance with vengeance.
I am now considering same, no skimmer. I run it a few hours a day as is. Will achieve airation through power head agitation at surface....that's the thought anyway....I have one.. got a used aqua uv for a steal! I am debating on not using it next upgrade though. Then again I was also debating not using a skimmer either.
It’s great for most dinos though if that is an issue.
90 gallon system, I've had 2 Turbo Twist, each of them lasting about 7 or 8 years each till fatal leakage. I moved to a fully submersible unit, because I wanted to get rid of the hoses required and a cleaner look that I can mostly hide behind rockwork. Bought this JUP-01 piece of junk. Bulb compartment breached with water after 4 months. I should have known better based on pricing. Anyone try this 'Green Killing Machine' ? I'm seeing mixed reviews on it online....
I usually go with a little 9watt or so unit, nothing too intense, seems to do the job over the years....
