UV location in peninsula stand

Where do other people with peninsula stands mount your UV sterilizer?? I'm at a loss for space here and I'm pretty sure the original owner had it mounted upside down...

I've been moving stuff around and cut out a panel so I made some extra space but that doesn't help my UV...

What make/model of UV sterilizer are we working with here?

A full sump cabinet photo would definitely help us point you in the right direction, too!

Its a waterbox 6025 and it's looking like the spot it is sitting on may be where it gets mounted but I initially wanted to mount it vertical. It had pvc clamps that were mounted under the tank so I'm pretty sure it was upside down. I picked up some hangers and I'm thinking in the location it is at I can scoot it to the center but I wanted to avoid the cord running across the cabinet. Its an icecap 40watt

Hmm… yeah… there isn’t much space there! I think horizontal mount to the top of the cabinet might be your best-bet here!

This UV sterilizer seems to run 300-1,000gph, would it be possible to plumb it inline to one of the two returns in your application?

— this would help to purge air from the sterilizer housing upon initial startup, or after return pump shutdown; making water flow uphill despite the sterilizer being horizontal!

Mine sits horizontal on the euro of my sump.. I didn’t have much room myself under my stand as I’ve built everything to pretty much take up every square inch of the stand haha!

I considered plumbing it in but its a tight squeeze with the factory assembly piping waterbox provides. If I was wiser when I started this I would have probably swapped the cabinet location for the electronics to the front and did more of a direct plumbing straight down from the overflow but I'm not venturing down that path now lol.

This would let you mount it to the wall of the cabinet, offering a bit more free sump working room!

No no, a glass panel in the sump. It had a small built in reservoir but since I added the redsea reefcan it wasn't necessary anymore. I wish the stand was a little taller honestly since it has doors on both sides. I could probably do elbows however the way it is plumbed if I moved the sump from its location it puts the L2 in a pretty rough spot to flow so if I do that on the end where it is I would have to put a spacer on the cabinet wall so it clears the end of the sump. Which I don't mind I think after my 45th time going to home depot for small items has just kind of exhausted me right now lol.
