Viral Lymph on CBB from copper?

This fish was shipped thoroughly QTd in both Copper and Formalin.

In these pics I see Bacterial possibly from injury or scrape and can be from Netting. Definitely not Lympho. Please refrain from cross posting which takes away from others who too are seeking answers to their issues and causes confusion with multiple links

Did the fish arrive in this condition?
Are the scales raised or is this a cottony texture? Any sign of wounds?
I doubt it has anything to do with copper or formalin. Doesn't look like typical lymphocystis either in my opinion. How long have you had this fish?

Agree it looks like scrapes/injury - and likely (given the size) - deserve treatment with an antibiotic - in a hospital tank. One method would be to watch and see if improving - and if any worse - treat with a broad spectrum such as kanamycin If improving, you've solved your issue.

That CBB is really thin. The lesions are on the body, not the fins, so that is not typical of Lymphocystis.

Just received it from shipment. The first pic shows from the side - it’s kind of a mix between looking like cotton and looking like raised scales. I was going to put in in QT with the chromis that were also shipped (all looks immaculate and also QTd by the seller), but I didn’t want to cross contaminate and didn’t believe what the CBB has is a disease - so I placed the CBB in the box in the DT.

Seller says he QTs CBBs together so they can beat each other up time to time.

Can you help me understand what you mean by cross posting? Do you mean predetermining possible disease in the title?

Cross posting is more than one post of same issue but I am now thinking we may have two CBB issues here and looking again now that I have more time

Possible shipping damage. IMO, this fish is unlikely to have any contagious disease, given its quarantine history. I would move it to the main tank with the best environmental conditions.

I added it to the acclimation box and it swims around strong. Still very visible marks (almost looks like super glue on it) but looks to slightly be fading already. Today is my second day trying to feed. I’ve tried giving it mysis yesterday and it didn’t pick at it, today I’m trying LRS. Will get clams on a half shell if this doesn’t work. By day 4 if it starts to not swim in its box as energetically, I’ll just release it into the tank as it does look like it’s trying to pick at the walls of the box. I have plenty of fuana/hydriods/aiptasia here and there I got it for and sponges it can pick at.

I've had very good luck getting new CBBs to eat using live black worms and white worms if you can find any local.

I would not hold a CBB in an acclimation box, too small and their delicate snouts could be injured, then they tend to go off food. Just release it and watch for tankmate aggression. If you see that, it is safer for a CBB to put the aggressor in the box.

Thank you! It was killing me keeping it in there. Since it has been in the box should I keep it until lights out or release it now?

Tough to say - I guess id release it with the lights on then sit back and watch for any fighting. If things are clear, then normal lights out for the day.

Ended up doing this. The male Watanabe angel I have went after him but didn’t nip - just “punked” I guess is the best way to put it. After 30 mins I guess it decided “yeah, he knows who’s boss” and then it came near again my blue regal was there (the real boss of the tank) and ever since the CBB is now looking integrated and picking at rocks. All is back to normal it seems in the reef.

Updating to get more identification/confirmation.

The CBB looked like it was doing ok. Was exploring the tank, and picked at rocks here and there, but was noticeably weak swimming last night - would float backwards even in lower flow areas and then swim forward.

This morning I found it on the bottom on its side breathing hard (like it’s exhausted).

I pulled it out and put it in my QT that I have chromis currently in - it tried to swim, although it looked disabled swimming contorted and sideways. I went to try and prep some baby brine to pipe directly into its mouth but by the time I got back it had passed.

Here are the pics of both sides to see if there’s more of an ID that can be made.
