Vlamingii Tang Bump on its head

I’ve had this fish for less than 2 weeks. Eats and acts normally. Noticed a bump on its head today. Is it simply a “bump”, like it bumped into something? Or something else?

Mine spooks easily and likely ran into object. I also encourage you to remove plastic plants which some have sharp cutting edges and been known to slowly release Petroleums which they are made of.
Bump should subside, but keep an eye on it for just that and not getting larger

Weird - my first thought was a neoplasm, a tumor. But that wouldn’t have grown like that in two weeks. Injuries develop that fast, but I’ve never seen one raised like that.

I took this picture 5 days ago and there was nothing. Also since it’s a new addition, we watch it closely every day. I don’t think this bump was even there a few hours ago…

Noted on the plastic plants. We’ve had them for 5 years . Any artificial plants that are safe? Or other “pretty” artificial decorations you’d recommend?

I see multiple injuries on the body of one of the tangs - likely from the plants - but IDK. Did you quarantine the fish? Do any other fish have those markings? (Which could be flukes). If you didn't quarantine your fish - forget the bump - look at the sides of the fish

@Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081 heres an updated video. The bump doesn’t seem to have enlarged. There appears to be a couple white dots on the bump now. Anything to be concerned about or interventions needed?

Sorry, I'm not sure what those white spots are, or if they are of any concern.

Is the fish still feeding ok?

Yes, it is still eating well, swimming normally, and very friendly (to me) when I come up to the tank :)

This appears to be infected and as a safeguard, I would treat at minimum with Ruby Rally Pro, but ideally with Seachem Kanaplex , best in a separate tank. As Jay asked- good to hear still behaving like a vlamingi, an eating machine. Mine just last night ran into a powerhead from being startled but acting/eating normal and I know how concerning a fish of this type can get

Both the QT and main tanks had Prazipro doses in the last 7 days. Is it safe to use with them?

Oh boy, it seems like it's going to be a tough one to catch. What would be the best course of action if I had to does the main tank (170 gallons plus sump)?

Seachem Kanaplex ok in main tank? Fish only.

Impressed by the Tankmatez bubble fish trap. Took a few hours to get the fish acclimated to the trap in the tank, then kept feeding them slowly through the tube. Vlamingii was one of the last fish to test it out, but caught it (and a couple friends, lol) safe and sound. Off to QT and I’ll dose it with Kanaplex when it’s delivered on Wednesday.

@vetteguy53081 the QT still has Prazipro in it. Should I do a large water change before using the Kanaplex?

PS the Picasso trigger and sailfin tang were treating the trap like a second home. Neither wanted to leave. The trigger just pigged out while the tang fought itself in the mirror

Water change yes and have this trap but the conventional trap is my favorite
