Total inhabitants are:
2 clown fish
1 Scarlet cleaner shrimp
4 little hermits
2 smaller astrea snails

I think I just enjoy feeding the clowns too much :(

I am feeding:
Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef Flakes
Nyos Wild Goji
frozen brine +vita chem
frozen Mysis + vita chem

I feed once a day and tend to skip a day or 2 each week. My proportions must just be way off.

Edit: clownfish are both around 2 inches big
13ppm no3 doesn’t sound that bad too me, especially for a new system. If there’s particulates left after, I’d recommend some kind of course filter sock setup that makes it easy to catch and remove uneaten food. I don’t think chaeto/macroalgae would work well if phos is leaving as fast as it comes in, but you could try.

And are you feeding all those foods together at the same feeding? If so, and you’re thawing whole cubes, you either have a lot of leftover mysis or some real chubby clowns. Maybe thaw, mix, dilute, and refreeze such that 1 cube ends up being split across 4-10 meals? Rinsing or sieve-transferring frozen food might be good too, to remove the really small particulates and junk and cut down on excess entering.

I only feed one of them at a time but I change it up most days.
My filter pads seem to be doing a good job there isnt anything floating around the tank and the surface is clean.

I am actually thinking about buying an algae scrubber. Seems like it would be a lot easier

These 2 from santa-monica look pretty cool.

I run a MiniQ on my QT tank and i love it.
My rear chamber is 2.07" and the miniq is measured to be 2.09". I could probably squeeze it but I am afraid that the tight squeeze will make it more difficult to get it running properly.

i've never setup a skimmer so I know nothing though!

So most people say I shouldn't do a protein skimmer. How about a waterfall algae scrubber?

This slip-7 would fit into my second chamber comfortably and could use my AIO chamber to naturally waterfall without adding another pump. Looks like a smart design more so even for my tideline aquarium.

This waterfall scrubber I think I could rig it above my AIO compartments and use my current return pump to return water to display through this and that would be really cool too.

Upgraded my system instead.. lol
I ordered a FijiCube 22.4 for a good price. I'll be able to fit about any protein skimmer I want and I'll have twice the tank volume.
So I am trying to decide between the Comline DOC Skimmer 9004 or K1-50 Icecap

tunze gets my vote if there is still no sump, if upgrading might as well get a system with sump just more options for equipment or to run fuge and skimmer. Seems like you are pretty hands on with the tank and a sump is much better to work in than an all in one

In the future I will probably build a 100 gallon or something but for now this was only $240 bucks and I already have a good stand. I wont have to spend anything else except buying a skimmer to play with it. I think I want to make a large system around the end of this year but for now I need to save money.

Tunze 9404. With this unit the water level in the sump is irrelevant. The 9004 by itself has a pretty deep immersion requirement.
