So I'm making a water change station because I'd like fresh and salt water on hand instead of one or the other like I have now. So my problem is mounting my rodi to the plywood on the side of the station. Would 1/2" plywood hold it? Here's what I'm working with.

If you're using an RO/DI with 2 holes for fastening, the best fastener may be an appropriately sized machine screw with nut and washer on the other side, since you don't have much thickness for screw depth.

+1 use fender washers on both sides of the wood to create a nice plywood and metal sandwich.

Thanks! Never heard of those, I'll have to look them up. Just had a thought... Would just screwing in a 2x4 making a stud behind it also work?

Gotcha, thanks!...I'm going to see if I can get some lag bolts with washers to fit into the rodi brackets. I screwed a stud in before I screwed everything tight, so a bolt through the plywood and 2x4 should hold it nicely. The plywood came with the house lol and it was the perfect size. My wife was glad to finally get it out of the garage

Well I thought I'd change the filters before I hung it up and the good news is I got the carbon block off... The bad news is I cracked it. There was silicon on the oring but it still wouldn't budge. It's probably fine to use but I'll pickup a new one just so I can sleep at night

Lol... Guess I should have used the hammer instead of a spare 2x4. I wish I had a wrench with more than a 6 inch handle. I picked up a tube of the Dow 111, and replacement orings for all the other canisters. Hopefully I don't crack any more. I walked away from it last night and haven't looked back.

Another newb mistake, thought I'd try the old canister. It holds pressure just fine but the fitting between the canisters is cracked. Rigged up this little beauty untill i can get a new fitting.
