I use gyres and nero 5s. Always wanted to try vortechs, but I think I am going to completely commit to nero 3 and 5 soon. The versatility with the AI app and the settings made me really love them.

I’ve been using 2 gyre pumps on my peninsula for almost 4 years in conjunction with a SeaSwirl on my return. The SeaSwirl stopped working, and repairing is a hassle. Great device but not sure I would use again. I like the flow the Gyres produce but hate maintaining them more. Cleaning the blades and replacing parts sucks. Every time I go to fix them it’s a pain, and takes way longer than it should. I’m gonna switch to Tunze. So if anyone has some 6095s I’m your buyer.

Trying to find those real large powergeads that move 10-15k or more gph, kind of looks like a beefy tunze. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Lol. Can't remember the brand but I dont think they're in this thread.

Pante Rhei most likely. Please say you're going to have a build thread because you are likely putting those into a monster tank! Tunze does have a massive pump as well (Turbelle Master Stream) so you may want to check those out too.

Thats it!! I'm going to build a new tank after I move, but thats another 1.5 to 2 years out. Im debating putting the smaller version of it, the ECM 42, in my 3ft 75. Is that crazy?

Edit: future build won't be insane big but looking at 72x36x20 or in that ballpark. A lot larger than any tank I've managed. :)

For my main tank I have 2 XF250 Gyres and I really love them they have been a great pump for creating flow, but I wish that I had more control over them. I ordered a Hydros WaveEngine so I may go from Somewhat Satisfied to very based on that.

On my 40gal frag I have 1 MP10 and it works great, love all the ecotech stuff.

Yeah, it's probably crazy. :0) You can save a LOT of money by going with Tunze 6105 for a 6' tank and maybe a 6045/6055 for a 3' tank.

Something I was interested in was to make it a peninsula style and 2 or 3 pumps on the overflow end. 2 of the ecm 63s would potentially give me the 100x turnover I was hoping to grab with just a few pumps. Definitely has the punch to push down the length. Unknown how random its flow would be. It looks like they do make a controller.

I run 2 gyre 250s ramped up to 70% and 2 vortech mp10s in nutrient export mode in my red sea 115gal, I also use the abyzz a400 set at roughly 3,000gph for my return through my manifold with all valves closed currently, for added directional flow in certain areas that need more flow. i love the flow

I didn't know tunze made those pumps! And they come with the controller! Separate cost with the Panta Rhei.

Panta Rhei ECM 75 Hydrowizard

There are bigger ones like at the Steinhart
Aquarium. They need a cement pillar or I-beam to mount to.

I have 5ea mp60's plus 3ea 1-1/2" sea swirls. Moving a lot of water in my square tank.

2 tunze 6040 in Biocube 29 controlled by Apex. I really like the wide dispersion creating strong, random turbulent flow without knocking the corals over.

I love my Panta Rhei pumps!
I've been trying to get detail reviews on these pumps for some time now. Do you where there are any detail reviews? Do you use the larger size or smaller size pumps? So what are your pro's & con's? any other useful tidbits would be SO SO appreciated! I'm going to be using a 365G 8'L x 34" wide tank. Thank you
