Christmas came early this year! Took advantage on a sweet Black Friday Deal and got myself a Waterbox 20 Cube w/ Stand. Luckily, I had a lot of equipment from my Evo 13.5 that I reused on this tank (in all honesty it was overkill for the 13.5, but it’s perfect for the 20).

AI Prime 16 HD/AI Nero 3
Reef Glass Nano Protein Skimmer
Cobalt 75W Heater
Jebao/Jecod DCS-1200 Return Pump
Tunze 3152 ATO

More to come on rock scape, but I am going with 20 lbs of Two Little Fish Stax dry rock and 15 lbs of Argonite special coarse live sand.

Will be doing a fish less cycle using Dr Tim’s One and Only and dosing ammonia.

More pictures and updates to follow. Hope Santa gets all your reefers items off your Christmas list. Cheers!

Nice! I’ve always thought of trying the reef glass skimmer.
Corals??
Going mixed reef with easy to keep corals (for the most part). Taking things slow so I will be going FOWLR for a couple months while the tank establishes. This is what I was thinking:
  1. Rainbow, Purple and Green Stylophora.
  2. Rainbow Montipora
  3. Japanese Long Polyp Toadstool Leather Coral
  4. Red (ultra red) Goniopora
  5. Bubble Gun Chalice
  6. Montipora Cap
  7. Electric Staghorn
  8. Torch and Hammer

Will you be connecting those rocks into a single piece or just stacking?

I've always stacked until my latest build and I'm extremely happy with the end result. No more knocking down rocks when placing corals is the biggest plus besides just the aesthetics. One con though, it's impossible to remove a rock or two in order to scrub off pests. We'll see how it works out in the long run.

I used puddy/superglue per 2-3 stax, just got a little stability.

Looking good man ! are you going to install a Ato? Iv been looking around but dont know if the pump will push the water to the top tank
Yes, I have the tunze nano 3152 ATO - it has plenty of power to push water to the rear chambers.

Update - added an AutoAqua Smart ATO Nano. I must say, the setup is easy - and not having the pump in the reservoir is a bonus. The housing it very small and clean looking. Pump is silent, the only knock I’m going to give this (and this is more specific to a Waterbox), is that I can see the ligh from the return chamber since the chamber wall is a tinted class back wall. Other than that, it’s pretty awesome.

I haven’t ran it on the Waterbox, yet; but, it worked amazing on the Evo 13.5
Good to know. I’ve been debating on getting it or not. I’m building a Waterbox peninsula mini 15 and thought it would be a perfect addition for the limited space I have to work with. Not many people seem to be using it or showing their results. Thanks for the info!
