Hello R2R,
This is going to be my first official build as I don't really count the 10G I set up in college (no corals just fish). I originally planned out a 4ft long tank either from Waterbox or Red sea but as I got into the details I just had a gut feeling that having a 120g in a 1bd apartment wasn't such a good idea. I decided a waterbox cube 20 was a good size given the space and now I'm 1 week in to cycling. The nice thing about planning way ahead of time is that I lucked out and found my waterbox and the stand for 50% off MSRP on facebook. It was originally going to be a QT tank but when me and my fiance started to realize a 120g was unrealistic it was easy convincing her to set up what we had.

I'm really on the fence about either going all out SPS even though it's a nano tank (I love challenges) or keeping it simple with LPS and zoas. I guess I can just say you are in for a surprise. I did hear from a youtuber that it's best to not plan and let corals do their thing. I'll go with a "less is more" approach regardless.
To catch you guys up I set the tank up last week on April 4th. 10# of live rock from KP Aquatics arrived on the 7th. I've been watching ammonia levels and doing water changes as necessary to keep the live rock critters alive. So far so good. Heres a photo from tonight.
