Curious, if the most flow it the best way to go then is keeping the pumps at 100% flow versus fluctuating that % of flow better or worse?

Pumps are not aimed directly at any corals and WAV pumps are set to mavericks - "A high-energy flow mode with random small and large changes in intensity such as is typical of a reef."

Example
Pumps set to 100% all day and night

IMHO, any stable flow rate will set up stable currents in the tank and will create 'dead spots' where detritus will get dropped and accumulate. But that's just my opinion.

I like getting as much random flow as I can. It makes for less dead spots and cleaner rockscape. I even set my rockscape up off the sand (well, 90% of the rocks) so water can flow under them. It also leaves more sand open to other tank critters. And more space on the bottom of rocks and egg crate for things like sponges and some feather dusters that don't like too much light to grow.

I never run at 100% for sake of bearings and friction but constant is fine
