Hi,

Is there a way to know how much to increase dosing of the core elements 1-3b?

My Alk went from 8.6 to 8.4 measured 24 hours apart.

My total water volume is about 170 gallons.

Is there an exact calculation? Currently dosing 1.5 mL of each right now.

Thanks

Nick

8.6 -8.4 is no big deal and within the accurately levels of most hobby test kits (0.3dKh) due to this it makes it difficult to accurately adjust the dosage by numbers.

Personally, leave it another day to see if it’s just a reading error and look for the trend. If it’s a trend I would then increase the dosage by 0.5ml to 2ml and wait and see again.

Try not to chase the numbers, it’s hard not to I know

Agreed. Your numbers are well within the acceptable range and the difference is within test error range. I suggest continuing to test daily and adjust your dosing based on the trend.

Here is a calculator from Triton. https://www.triton-lab.de/en/calculators/diy-calculator/

Assuming your volume and dkh drop are accurate, they suggest a daily dose of 6.65ml of each part to meet demand.
