Does it look like the pink goo from ghost busters? If so then it’s most likely a sponge. I have it in my tank around the bases of my euphyllia because it doesn’t like light and the polyps keep it shaded.

I’m gonna take a guess without looking at any pictures and just say it’s brown jelly. If you want any help from members on here, you have to upload pictures.

Brown jelly. Look up KFC dip method. I doubt you can save the coral in the pic it looks like a loss…
