Does it look like the pink goo from ghost busters? If so then it’s most likely a sponge. I have it in my tank around the bases of my euphyllia because it doesn’t like light and the polyps keep it shaded.

I’m gonna take a guess without looking at any pictures and just say it’s brown jelly. If you want any help from members on here, you have to upload pictures.
