Water parameters are within normal ranges. I’ve had this guy for about 2 weeks now. When I first got him he was extremely timid- to this day I have not gotten him to eat anything directly from me. He grazes the rocks all day and occasionally picks up a piece of mysis if it floats by from my general feedings. Haven’t seen him touch any nori. I add vitamins and selcon to all food.

These discoloration patterns showed up about a week ago and I’ve got no idea what it is. They look slightly raised but it’s super hard to tell. He hasn’t been fighting any other tank mates. IMG_0378.png IMG_0377.png

Did you QT the fish? He seems thin to me. Any other symptoms - breathing, etc? Any bullying? Can you circle a couple of the areas you're concerned about - I see some abnormal areas - it would be nice to see what you're concerned about - since they are new (if I'm understanding you correctly)

Looks like skin irritation and may be from either water quality or copper exposure

I can just see some vague discoloration areas along its back. Could be from fluke damage, what other fish are in with it?

Any updates on this? I’m having the exact same issue and my whitetail bristle-tooth was also timid/has same eating patterns you described.
