Was dosing Bionic 2 part C-ALK w/ dosing pump 6× daily, today just changed to 24× daily bc alk was clogging. Hopefully this will correct the problem . Will keep yal in the know.

This adjustment didn't change a thing, maybe little but still clumping at hose tip, oh that's 40min won't get back in my life wasnt a total waist. I manually discharge the Jeboa doser daily. Going out of town different story .

I am au automation junky, but you need to stay on top of that stuff, it is kinda set it and forget it, but if something stops working you can get screwed quick.

Habits get easier is the only change with more automated systems. More time to enjoy the reef. I think a simplest adjustment to enjoy this hobby is a nice cool beverage in the evening during moonlight period or two . Stay thirsty and legal my friends!!

I had the same problem until I Cut the end of the ALK dosing line using a 45 degree cut. That solved my ALK clogging issues

Yeah, it is nice to see trends. I have just been logging straight data of parameters. I have started adding notes which I think has helped more. I was dosing how much a month ago? I changed it why? How much? I used to not log things like that. That has helped more than seeing trends!

I keep it in Excel so I can play around with graphing.

Patience is so important. Most changes, both good and bad are slow. I wish I could enjoy more and worry less.

After 40 years of reefkeeping, my biggest takeaway has been that the tank does better when I don't mess with it. Yes, testing, water changes, maintenance, etc. is critical. But early on I had a tendency to overreact and change things too abruptly. Making changes very slowly makes a world of difference.

By keeping it simple. I feel like a lot of people over complicate things by always chasing numbers. I may not have as crazy fast growth as others, but I have 3 healthy tanks running with nothing other than ATO’s. One of which I’m about to switch back to a gravity fed one because the pump isn’t capable of adding the small amount of water needed and it’s causing salinity swings due to the tank being 4.8g. I test salinity and that’s it. The KISS method works in a lot of hobbies and professions for a reason.
