What Are These?

Can anyone tell me what these white things are? They've been showing up on several of my corals. Easy to remove but in all cases it seems that they irritate the corals when they are near the tissue.

If you do know what they are, any tips on getting rid of them would be appreciated.

Try to get a better pic. They look like pineapple sponge which are ok filter feeders but hard to tell from your pic.
