I'm hardware support at my company. It's just me and my boss, we manage all the tech our company has in the field. 400 tablets, 300 phones, 70 laptops. It's a fun job but doesn't pay well. In order to afford my fish addiction I'm usually working overtime, dashing, and or donating plasma. I purchased my 120g mixed reef setup purely from donating plasma.

Everyone knows this is an expensive hobby and I’m wondering what everyone does for a living to support their reefing needs. I’m an electrician by trade. It’s not the most glamorous job in the world but it supports my family and I while at the same time being able to keep a reef tank, a modest low tech one at that. I guess that’s why I chose to call myself the frugal reefer.

I’m also a fellow sparky (Master in Texas) who’s been doin commercial work for 23 yrs. I just turn tricks as my secondary hobby. Currently and, have been for over a decade, maintaining the second tallest building in Houston. The way that main is terminated ascetically bothers me lol. Here’s a during and after of a 400a 3p panel that we upgraded to 800a for what I’ve been told is currently the largest elevator mod in the country. IMG_2781.jpeg IMG_6499.jpeg

I'm a software developer turned business owner. We create and implement ERP solutions on the Microsoft Dynamics platform. I still code around 80% of my time because that's what I love to do.
My dad does a similar thing, I think mostly in the mortgage and finance sectors though, moodys and black knight are the only companies I remember off the top of my head. He’s always had various side projects but now he’s starting to build custom code for people

I’m a dpw worker whose hobby is supported by the wife who’s a cancer clinic nurse educator for a major medical franchise. Besides that I’m an arborist so I cut down trees on the side to pay for the extra expensive things I want.

Nice. Good to see a fellow sparky on this forum. The panel I’m working on in the pic was built by the electrical contractor involved in the expansion of the facility I work in, a casino by the way. I was just terminating some new circuits for some kitchen equipment. I guess I should have chosen a better pic.

That's like saying 'computers'
Hardware? Software? Networking?
I’m convinced that the Microsoft Office is the home of the AntiChrist Church and the last step of “civilization” before the end of the millennium. IT is written?

Also a Commercial and Industrial construction electrician in Manhattan. Worked for about 40 years now retired. (Thank God.)

I am the foreman in the white helmet CAD welding in a NYC garbage incinerator. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

The top picture I am installing lights on top of the Plaza Hotel. It was 17 degrees that day and snow covered Central Park is below me.
