What do you guys do for coral warfare with the encrusting/ them hitting each other. I have a few that are very aggressive and winning/killing other colonys. I have taken F aptasia and burned the areas of battle, but long term some of these are going to be very hard to reach.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but coral growth can be a lot different than planned. I only have a few aggressive corrals, i tend to work them into my scape with the idea of there growth and possible damage to others

Yea I tried to give them all room, but some just turn out to encrust a whole tone before growing out. The really nice ones I am saving from damage but its hard to tell what will grow and how...

In my tank the favias seem to battle each other on a equal basis. But add a chalice to the battle and they for the kill .

Favias can get down right nasty.
Yes, but in my tanks in the past they seem to fight with the same weapons. Mostly 1/2" to 3/4" tentacles and the battle is only on the border.. It's some of the chalices I've had have those 5"-6" long sweepers that seem to reach out and dissolve whole colonies.

Mine was an exceptionally aggressive colony 😂 I had to give it 3-4 inches of space and it stung anything it hit hard.

Ive found pectinia to be pretty nasty This one ended up confined to a corner. Interesting that now its no longer in a tank with a lot if fleshy LPS it never extends sweepers. Lobos are also very aggressive. Ive found SPS much easier than LPS when it comes to cohabitating with others.

Oh man, I know, LPS corals can be vicious!😂
I believe is was a nearby torch that ruffled my favias feathers. Its fascinating to see their behavior around one another. Some just want nothing to do with eachother and others become killers.

I forgot I left these two on the sand together overnight. It didn’t take long.
