I agree with the Flametail Blenny having a great personality, but sometimes mine sleeps in and is missing for most of the day in a cave. They do have a nice bonus because they love to eat green hair algae, and mine eats just about anything, including bits of shrimp if you cut it up small enough (whenever I have shrimp for dinner I set one aside - uncooked - and dice it up). Great reef safe fish, but not always out and about. My Flametail Blenny is a really friendly guy, he gets along great with everybody. Good looking too.
Unfortunately I already have my tank aquascaped which is not suitable for a jawfish, I really like those guys
A 20 gallon saltwater tank is extremely limited to what you can have. Live aquaria has a nano fish section. I’d recommend a tail spot blenny yellow or white banded or Tanaka wrasse. You have to be very careful not to overload your tank and especially the kind of fish. There’s not much swimming room in it.I am trying to find a unique fish with some good personality for my 20 gallon tank, something besides the normal goby and clownfish.
What comes to your mind?
I agree, I have a very minimalist rock scape for lots of room.A 20 gallon saltwater tank is extremely limited to what you can have. Live aquaria has a nano fish section. Wow nice fish, does he give any inverts a hard time?Flame hawk. Great color, tons of personality, and mine is a shameless photobomber.
Would I need something for them to hide in like a shell?barnacle blennys

Something chews on any starfish I have and I suspect it may be him, but I'm not certain. Other than that, no.Wow nice fish, does he give any inverts a hard time?
I've always wanted one of these guys...Midas Blenny are super cool. Ours will even eat out of your hand and is a chow hound. He will wiggle all over the tank looking for snacks. Great personality and gets along with all of the other fish
