Hi everyone, I got an acanthophyllia 2 days ago, it appears healthy and it ate well yesterday. Today when cleaning some algae, I noticed that it sort of jiggled and then erupted with some kind of white stuff. I managed to get a video of it. All help is appreciated! Thankyou!

Can’t see the video, but guessing it’s mesenterial filaments. It’s part of their digestive tract and they can expel part of it when disturbed.

Interesting! If it is either spawning or messentrial filaments, will this make my water qaulity get bad? I made my skimmer skim wetter and threw in a bag of carbon to be safe.

Personally it looks like a spawning event, AKA Acan adult party.

But if not. You already took good precautions by running carbon and heavier skimming.

When ever in doubt......do it for JustIn......Just In Case !!!!!!!
