When I was checking everything out this morning, I noticed this in the front corner of my tank. At first it looked like just a wad of string that had gotten in there but we don't have any string here. It's kind of sticky and stuck to the glass also.

my first thought wouls be some sort of snail eggs, but man thats alot of eggs. can you post your tank inhabitants including clean up crew and that might help clear it up?

i would guess string myself..... i have never saw anything like that before lol... have you tried removing it or poking it with something??? you sure it's not string??lol that;s pretty crazy...

I'm tending to agree with eggs of some kind, but don't believe they are snail eggs. It almost looks like a mass of worms - its not moving is it ;)

looking at the second pic dead in the center. it almost like like a tail or a flattened area. the worm theory sounds pretty good. doesnt look like it has moved too much from comparing the 2 pics

I think you something is planning an escape route...keep an eye to see if they throw it over the side of the tnak and start climbing out LOL

but i agree it looks like mass snails eggs.

Yes when I thought it was string I scraped it and it's sticky and stuck to the glass.

I have 1 six line wrasse...1 yellow tang...2 carnivore eating engineer gobies...2 clowns...1 brown scopas tang...1 bicolor blenny...1 seahare...1 large turbo snail, some small turbos and some blue leg/red leg crabs.

Snail eggs are normally a zigzag on the glass never a big wad of goo that the Pic you posted... If anything it's a type of a worm and a very long one at that!!! Lol

my firet question was do you have a sea hare then I saw the post that you do! it has something to do with that. I have seen the same stuff in LFS's in the sea hare tanks it is either their dodo or there eggs.

Looks like a large spaghetti worm. Kathleen does it move? To me it looks like it might be moving because some of it looks like it is in a different position in both pics. Also it looks to me like it is segmented or to have fine hairs on it.

I have also seen basket stars that look like that.

If not it could be a mass of eggs to something.

Jeesh, how big is that sea hare! Is that the sea hare in the bottom pic, on the rock?

No that's some kind of mushroom. Since I only have the one sea hare, the eggs wouldn't be fertilized so I doubt anything will ever come of them. Here she is, her name is Fiona.
