Yellow watchman goby white patch on/near gill. It’s not fuzzy, it’s not spreading, there’s no redness.
Inhabitants:
2 clowns
1 purple firefish
3 nassarius snails
1 margarita snail
1 tiger pistol shrimp

I have recently removed 3 blue legged hermit crabs since they had torn up the YWG fins, which have just finished up healing. One is still half stubby bcuz there was spine damage on the fin, but all webbing has regrown. He never stopped eating and is now doing great and is coming out of his cave more. To help his fins heal, I used API MELAFIX, which is safe for all inhabitants including inverts (though I has no pistol shrimp while dosing it). I dosed 1/2 to 2/3 a cap full once a day for 5 days. The last day I did it was Monday, and yesterday (Tuesday) is when I noticed this white blotch which I did not notice when feeding on Monday evening.
What are your thoughts?
Fish store said to monitor, and that they’ve never seen an infection like this or any gill fluke like this and think maybe it is a slime build up from dosing the API MELAFIX.

That looks like a minor injury with possible secondary bacterial infection. It wasn't caused by the Melafix (I wouldn't use that anyway, it's just an herbal tonic).

If it isn't growing in size and if new spots aren't starting, I would just watch it for now. If the symptoms worsen, you would need to move the fish to a treatment tank and dose it with a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic like Neoplex.

Got it thank you. I have a clean beta tank from a friend. It’s 2 gallons. Is this ok for a treatment tank?

The goby won't be very happy in that tank, even if you are able to establish a good biofilter in it. I would prepare to use that if that's your only option, but don't actually pull the trigger on a treatment unless the fish's condition worsens.

Oh yes it’s definitely a last resort. I’m just in the process of trying to finance a new car and I’m not sure I can afford a tank right now. In the future I’ll get a larger one to have on hand for quarantine.
