Tried Chemiclean but didn’t seem to have any effect. If I go lights off the 6 astreae snails devour it in a day. It looks like Cyano to me but like I said the Chemiclean had 0 effect.

No. It’s not the salt.

That is super super weird though.
There is a “lime green cyano” that actually may be a slime algae, but we need to figure out what’s feeding it.
How did you cycle the tank?
All dead rock?
Any corals?
Nopox?
What are the n03 and Po4?

SO! Here are the details.
I purchased this cube about four months ago and got sand, rock and water in the month following that. All rock and sand was dry when I got it. I started the cycle and it has been cycled for the last two months. About a week before the full cycle the green stuff showed up. I did a full water change (I do weekly changes of about 25%) to help get rid of all the nitrates accumulated while cycling. During that I blew the rocks off with a turkey baster and vacuumed it all out. Nitrates are now to the point where they are essentially undetectable and phosphates are the same. Ammonia and nitrate obviously undetectable. I put the snails in to see if they’d do some reasonable damage about a week ago but they can’t seem to keep up with it. Any other questions?

What product did you use to cycle ?

Did you have the green before the snails?

No animals or anything at all in the tank when that stuff showed up?

Used Seachem Stability and Dr. Tim’s bacteria as well as ammonia. The green was there before I put anything live in the tank including the snails.

Well that’s just crazy. I’ve honestly not seen anything like it.

Cyano is naturally forming and things can be airborne and all but wow.

If the snails are eating it , I wouldn’t stress it too hard and probably look at more soon.

Let’s get more eyes in

Yup that’s why I’ve dismissed a lot of things. Didn’t make sense to me as like I said nothing wet was put into the tank up until the snails and the stuff was already there.
