What's this?

I'm afraid this part will be torn by the water flow.

i think that new growth...if its whitish in color then they are happy and growing...maybe even a split happening

It's not white, it's similar to purple.
Is it a positive meaning?

when i say white its not pure white more of a kind of translucent whitish, with possible mauve hues.
does it look like the fine cartlidge in a mud crab when you eat it...like fragile and delicate.....thats what it looks like to me from the pic..new growth
