But on a more serious note,

In my mind a "High End Coral" is a bright coral that is uncommon and been in the hobby for several years. For example Oregon Tort, Purple Monster, Sapphire millie, and Sunkist Millie. But some of the older Reef Raft stuff is starting to fit the bill.

I just got that for you.
$5 per inch + shipping.

That's totally a millie :P

Here in Australia, high end seems to be more based on "color"than coral itself,
The unusual colors seem to fetch the highest prices and be the most sort after.
Greens, browns seem to be the everyday cheaper, belly button corals eg everyone has one.
Its the oranges, reds and blues that fetch the biggest dollar because everyone wants them.

High end changes all the time. It's also about mindset. 2-3 years ago I thought certain zoas were high end. I remember when I got utter chaos, I thought I was the top of my game. Now it's common for me. Pretty much back then $20+ Per polyp. Now my thoughts are $150+ pp to start.

I too have gotten struck by the mushroom craze. Few jawbreaker and a few bounces later I'm in the game with a lot more to collect. This can be a sick hobby sometimes. What could we have bought if we never got started or kept it simple. If we ALL kept it simple then high end would be a myth. We ALL are to blame for price jacking.
