I am using the Octopus Classic External 75 on my 55 gal. After using a cheap model, I researched and decided to follow the advice on Reef2Reef and purchased a better model. Glad I did! No problems at all and I love it! I feel like I saved money in the long run by purchasing a better model now.
I am learning so much from all. Thanks

Bubble King Double Cone 200 w/ Red Dragon Speedy Pump on a 150 with 35 gallons in the sump. Only been running two months but its dead silent, control ability is unmatched and the design is beautiful.

I have tried allot of skimmer lately and on my main tank I keep coming back to my RLSS skimmer. These are just work horses.

Most skimmers are trying to use to much air and not processing enough water lately. Stil dont know why all skimmers dont come with some air adjustment.

On my frag tanks I am using a Aquamaxx CO-1 which is not a bad skimmer also for smaller tanks.. The thing produces very steady and never needs adjustment. I actually had one frag tank leak so I took it off line and fixed it. I filled it up with new saltwater so it was almost a 50 percent water change and this thing was still pulling.. It replaced a crappy SCA skimmer.

Luke what is that? like some modified RLSS skimmer?

Hey Dave, I purchased it from a manufacturer and modified it just a tad by changing out the venture to a better venturi. I believe it may be the same manu as the RLSS, not really sure.

If I can't build it, I don't need it
The skimmer (and the phone) are from the 70s

I'm using this guy on my 240g system. 68w 3000lph air, working pretty good. I get a full collection cup every 7-10 days

Is this the coralbox skimmer that reef breeders sells? Looks very similar if it isn't.

BM curve 5 on a 40 breeder with a 20 tall sump. It pulls an insane amount of junk out of the water and it is dead silent.

Lifereef VS2-24, the same skimmer I've been using for over a decade on my 120. Just changed out my Little Giant pump to a Blue Line and I'm very pleased as the BL is very quiet.
